It’s been so hot here that it’s really impossible to be on the beach (or even in the pool) in the heat of the afternoon.
In fact, we’ve discovered that evenings are the very best time to hit the beach this year. Most people are having dinner, so it’s less crowded. It’s perfectly warm still, but not blisteringly hot.
We headed down right after dinner the first night. I hurried ahead to get a photo of the ‘first seeing the beach’ faces. Jordan was trying to get a photo of me.
Celia didn’t waste any time:
Jordan didn’t either. He had to get up close and personal with a crab right away.
The next night we came prepared with nets…set to capture.
Bob and Jane, the unfortunate captives:
Not near as unfortunate as crabs we met the next night. We had those on our plates, dipped in butter. Celia is turning into a pro at getting claw meat out intact. Bob and Jane were luck (and scrawny). They were set free at the end of the evening.
