Seeds? We gots em!
The kids and I picked out a BUNCH of seeds this year. Last year we were really successful with the few that we did….so this year (of course) I decided to go WAY over board.
Celia and I already planted the African Daisies and English Daisies in little cups, and those have sprouted. I also snuck and did the Morning Glories (3 different colors!) without her because I was in a hurry. Yes, those are several different types of sunflowers you see. I generally don’t like them. Okay, I hate them. They are freakish. But the kids love them, and I need something to fill the space late summer after my planned ‘wall of peas’ dies off. The watermelon seeds are all Jordan’s project….and I’m trying to come up with a cool way to plant the carrots in a clear box (maybe with some of the clear hydroponic soil) so the kids can watch them grow. I don’t know the details on that one yet though.
Also, here is the planter that I built for our mantle. It’s 6 feet long!
The kids threw some grass seed on it and now we have a neat look for spring.
Here’s an updated one from the MacBook camera. Grass grows really fast. I figure Celia will have a good time helping me to give it a haircut in a week or so as well.
