Something is very wrong.
My husband went to Barnes and Noble yesterday.
He was not buying me a gift. He did not have a desperate need for Starbucks.
He bought a book. And he’s reading it.
Please understand that my husband does not read books. Oh he can read. He’s highly literate. He reads on the computer ALL of the time. He even takes his laptop in the bathroom with him. He will on occasion leaf through a magazine.
But never before, in the ten years I’ve know him, has he read a book.
Oh, he’s had good intentions. He’s made an effort before. Usually with stuff we’re doing in a class at church. But it usually ends up that I read it and tell him what it’s about because he gets sidetracked.
But yesterday, he bought a book, and he came home and sat down to read it. (Until the kids realized he was home). He went to bed a read before going to sleep, like a normal person.
It’s very strange. Is it a midlife crisis or something?
